BMW 1 Series Hertz Audio Upgrade

We have many BMW and Mini owners come to us because their factory fitted audio system falls seriously short of what they want and expect.  So we have developed some packages that will bring these systems up to spec.

This example here is a 5dr BMW 1 Series that needed some more clarity and detail to the system, along with a bit more mid bass.  Our solution to this problem is a package consisting of a Hertz Energy ESK163 3 way component set up and a Hertz HE2 amplifier to power them.  This lot was connected up with the signal being provieded by the factory headunit directly into the high level inputs of the amp.  This is not the best method of driving the amp, but this particular customer did not have the funds immediately to allow us to install a high quality signal processor.  He will however be coming back soon to have an Audison Bit Ten processor installed that will take the high level speaker output from the factory head unit and de-eq/’flatten’ the signal.  This means the processor will take an OK quality, overly eq’ed signal and turn it into a pristine quality output for the amps to run off.  The Bit Ten also allows accurate sculpting of the sound so you can massively improve the quality of the sound for an extra £300 plus installation!!!

The configuration of the 1 Series stock audio system is such that the mid bass driver is in an enclosure under the seat and a mid range/tweeter is mounted in the door.  We removed the mid bass driver and fabricated custom baffles for the enclosures to allow us to install the Hertz Energy units and then made up custom baffles for the mids to go in the stock mid locations and mounted the new tweeters in the factory tweeter location that was not used by BMW!!!!

The whole installation takes about a day to complete, looks completely factory, but sounds anything but factory!!!

When the customer came to collect his car he could not believe the differance is sound stage, treble clarity, mid bass extension and overall clarity, even with the system running directly off the factory head unit.

This complete installtion including Hertz Energy ESK163 components, Hertz HE2 amp, power and signal cabling, custom baffles and installation costs just £675.  Plus you will recieve a full 3 year manufacturers warranty on all the kit as we are a Four Master dealer.
